Orientation

Paradise Regional is an immersive emergency medicine training environment built around clinical judgement, mentorship, and realistic decision-making.  You will move through cases, conversations, teaching moments, and unexpected challenges much as you would in a real hospital.  The goal is not to get the answer right-it is to learn how to think, how to ask one more question, and how to become the clinician others can rely on.

What We Expect From You

Bring curiosity, humility, and your best clinical judgement.  Ask questions.  Defend your reasoning.  Recognize uncertainty.  Learn from mistakes without hiding from them.  You are expected to engage with patients, Nurses, Residents, mentors, and the system around you as you would in a real clinical environment.  Most importantly, ask that one more question. The detail that changes the case is often the one you only discover because you stayed curious for a few seconds longer.

How You Will Learn

You will learn by doing, observing, questioning, and teaching.  Some cases will be straightforward.  Others will change as new information appears.  You may see other trainees make mistake, watch mentors step in, or be asked to explain your own decisions under pressure. The expectation is simple:  Watch one, do one, teach one-and keep learning from every patient, every college, and every decision

Before You Enter

Paradise Regional responds to the decisions you make.  Cases may evolve, patients may deteriorate, and new information may change the path you thought you were on.  Mistakes are part of learning, but they may have consequences inside the clinical environment.  Mentors are available, and you are expected to use them when you need them.

Treat every patient as though the encounter matters.  Stay curious. Stay teachable. Ask that one more question.
